| Soil
Vapor Surveys are
critical investigative tools when assessing potential contamination
at dry cleaners, gasoline service stations and other
sites using volatile organic compounds and cholrinated hydrocarbons. |
|
Soil
Vapor Surveys are
conducted to assess upward vapor risk from volatile chemicals.
Contaminated soil and groundwater can release volatile chemicals
(such as PCE, TCE, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes)
in the vapor phase. These vapors migrate through the subsurface
soil, the ground surfaces, and flooring material in open areas
of buildings. They can cause health risks for building occupants.
|
Viridian® Inc., conducts
active, passive and flux chamber soil vapor surveys using EPA-supported
methods and multi-state guidance. Vapor samples can be collected
at various depths through multiple types of terrain, including
concrete or asphalt and various flooring material. We use hand-operated
equipment for limited access sites and sub-slab sampling in building
interiors. Vapor samples are stored in air tight Tedlar® bags
or Summa® canisters that are shipped directly to a laboratory
for analysis.
