Monotype
A monotype is a print pulled in an edition of one, from a painting made on a  sheet of metal or glass and then passed through the etching press. In some cases, it is possible to run the plate again, and get a "ghost" image. A ghost has a softer line, less detail and more diffuse color. Monotype is an immediate technique unlike many other printmaking processes, but one has to remember that the image will appear in reverse! The shrimp below are monotype and it's ghost.
